Here are some of the recent activities that the Ponton House Trust has been involved in.

2018 donations

Since the Ponton House Trust was set up back in 1993 it has been using its income to provide financial support to a wide range of charities in the Edinburgh and Lothians area. It focuses on charities which are working with children and young people, and likes to help where a donation from the Trust may potentially make all the difference to the viability of specific projects.

Applications for support of all kinds of activities are welcome – from charities which are running arts programmes for young people, to health-related charities, to youth cafes and outward bound organisations. The range of applications received by the Trust is very wide and during 2018 the Trust made donations in excess of £63,000.

The amount which the Trust has been able to donate to other charities over the years has now exceeded the £1 million mark, and the Trustees would like at this time to record their thanks to Baillie Gifford, the fund managers based in Edinburgh, and Lindsays Solicitors for their support of the Trust over the last 25 years.

New Trustees

We are delighted to have three new Trustees who joined the Board of Trustees in April – Lynsey Kerr, Fiona Wilson and Alex Johnson. Lynsey is a solicitor at Lindsays in Edinburgh, Fiona works at NHS Lothian and Alex is at Stockbridge Parish Church. These appointments will ensure that the Trust continues to have a broad range of skills and knowledge available to enable the Trustees to continue to successfully pursue the charitable purposes of the Trust.
